After escaping from two thieves, the St. Bernard strays to the Newton’s home and is adopted by the family. Beethoven helps their children overcome some problems, however he becomes a slobbery, oversized and destructived animal when growing up. Unknown to them, the family takes him to see a veterinarian, and Beethoven has to struggle against who wants to kill him.
