Diane Després, a widowed mother, struggles raising her troubled, sometimes violent son Steve and she's overwhelming many times. But then she starts to receive assistance and support from her mysterious new neighbour Kyla, everything turns easier. Both of them find a new sense of balance, and hope is regained.
