Donna Stern, a young comedienne, breaks up with her boyfriend and has an one night stand with Max, who she meets in a bar. Several weeks later, she discovers that she is pregnant. The unplanned pregnancy leads her to face the realities of independent womanhood for the first time, and from that, she learns how to be brave in life as she is on stage.
