October Sky

Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Cooper and Laura Dern, this biographical drama follows Homer Hickam, a highschool boy living in Coalwood, West Virginia, where boys grow up to be coal miners. When Homer sees the Sputnik satellite in the night sky, he dares to break free of the mines and reach for the stars, with the help of his devoted teacher and his best friends.
