Whale Rider

A small Maori village faces a crisis when the heir to the leadership of the Ngati Konohi dies at birth and is survived only by his twin sister, Pai. But the young Maori girl still fights to become the chief of the tribe even though her grandfather believes that this is a role reserved for males only.
