Thirteen-year-old Lili is suddenly forced to abandon her beloved dog Hagen since it is mixed-breed heritage is deemed 'unfit' by government. After her father sets Hagen free on the streets, it becomes the leader of all the unwanted, unloved and 'unfit' dogs, while Lili starts her journey to look for Hagen and bring it back.
