"Secret Door" is set up in the reign of King Yeongjo, when the King and the Crown Prince Sado are involved in a conflict: King Yeongjo wants to consolidate strong royal authority while Crown Prince Sado dreams of a society of equality and freedom for everyone. The Crown Prince is accused of emotional instability, excessive violence and sexual assault and eventhough the King tries to protect him, he's finally forced to suicide.
