After an up and down career as a professional baseball pitcher in the major leagues, Kenny Powers is now forced to return to his hometown and work as a physical education teacher at his own middle school in the first season of the hilarious comedy drama. Refusing to admit his glorious days of a pro baseball player are over, Power vainly rocks his mullet and attempts to catch his high-school girlfriend April's eye.
